Our food shelf helps between 9,000 and 10,000 people each year access the food they need to stay healthy and active.

Our neighbors who access this program are able to select from a variety of fresh produce, baked goods, packaged meals and shelf-stable grocery items. We provide about a week’s supply of groceries to households during each visit.

Questions about accessing this program can be directed to Edi Abeneto, our Grocery Distribution Coordinator at (802) 658-7939 ext. 23 or by emailing

Our flagship program is our food shelf, where we provide a monthly five-day supply of groceries to families in need. We also offer fresh produce and bread five days per week.

Thanks to the generosity of community supporters, Feeding Chittenden has been able to keep pace with the growing demand for our services during this tough economy. Since there have been over 1,000 new people accessing our services in the past year, we anticipate that more families will need assistance than ever before.

Volunteers are a crucial part of every program at Feeding Chittenden. The dedicated hearts and hands of the community help us complete the countless tasks that go into providing food for more than 11,000 people every year. As a Food Shelf volunteer, you’ll experience endless opportunities to learn, grow, and play a rewarding role in addressing hunger in your neighborhood.

By supporting Feeding Chittenden, you are making an investment in your community. With your continued support, we can bring about the change necessary to provide opportunities for those who need them most.
