Dear Volunteers,
On behalf of CVOEO, Feeding Chittenden (FC), and those we serve, I would like to give a huge thank you for your commitment to our community. As change is the only constant in life, it is not uncommon that any one of us may suddenly find ourselves faced with hardship. When this happens, the ability to lean on our community and the resources we share with each other helps us make it through these challenging times. As a volunteer your time, work, energy, and the resources that you offer, build and lift up this community, supporting those in times of need.
As an employee of FC, I can safely say that one of the best parts of my job is interacting with all of you. With your different backgrounds, skills, and experiences, each one of you enriches the day to day operations and improves our services by providing perspective and insight. FC’s mission is focused on mitigating food insecurity and providing opportunities that help families and individuals out of difficult times. By volunteering with FC, you are a part of these efforts. You are a part of alleviating hunger, a part of making sure all people have access to nourishing food, and a part of providing people with opportunity.
The fact that your interest and commitment is completely voluntary only proves your dedication to our community. As a group, you support all of FC’s programming. On a monthly basis volunteers average around 375 hours which works out to be around 93 volunteer hours a week. This is a significant amount of time and is something to be proud of! I know I speak for everyone when I say we are so grateful.
Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do. It is truly a pleasure working with all of you.
Sincerely,
Angela deBettencourt
