(SEVENDAYS) Like so many events this year, the annual Turkey Round-Up at Feeding Chittenden has gone online. In years past, community members dropped off turkeys in person at the food shelf’s North Winooski Avenue building in Burlington. This year, they can make virtual donations to reach the goal of feeding 3,500 food-insecure families this holiday season. A $25 donation provides a full Thanksgiving meal to a family of four in Chittenden County.
“This year we want to make sure people still have the opportunity to help feed our hungry neighbors while keeping everyone safe in the process,” Feeding Chittenden director Rob Meehan said in a press release.
