Volunteers are a crucial part of every program at Feeding Chittenden. The dedicated hearts and hands of the community help us complete the countless tasks that go into providing food for more than 12,000 people every year.
As a Feeding Chittenden volunteer, you’ll experience endless opportunities to learn, grow, and play a rewarding role in addressing hunger in your community. Volunteer opportunities occur Monday-Friday 6:30am-4:00pm. There are no options to volunteer outside of these hours.
Here are some of the things you could do as a volunteer:
- Stock shelves, fridges, and freezers with fresh food for the Grocery Distribution Program
- Prep/serve breakfast & lunch for the Hot Meal Program
- Help clients sign-in to receive groceries
- Prep and/or deliver groceries to stay-at-home clients
- Pick up donations from our local grocery store partners
- Process bulk items into individual serving sizes
- Unload, weigh, and record food donations as they are delivered
- And so much more!
Note: You must be 18 years or older to volunteer.
