Hi everyone! My name Linnie Trimmer and I am serving as Feeding Chittenden’s AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America). I am the first of at least three VISTAs that will be serving with Feeding Chittenden and could not be more excited to learn more about all the amazing programs going on here and help to build capacity within this organization. As an AmeriCorps VISTA I will be serving full time for the next year when my role will be taken over by a new member!
My full title is the Development and Communications AmeriCorps VISTA. This year I am lucky to work across many avenues and be involved in a lot of different projects. One of my main areas of focus is running the social media accounts for Feeding Chittenden, I make sure to post regularly, come up with new content, and stay involved with our followers. This also involves taking pictures of almost everything that goes on here so that we can show everyone the amazing stuff that is happening. If you ever donate, volunteer, or visit us and snap some cool pictures send them my way! In addition to running the social media, I am creating this blog and working on posts about a variety of topics, everything from stories highlighting donors, volunteers, staff, and clients to childhood hunger, recipe’s and so much more! Keep an eye out for these stories coming throughout the next year. I have also been working to put in place a monthly e-newsletter that will update people on current Feeding Chittenden news and events that will be coming up. In addition to all of this activity online, I am working with donor acknowledgement, so I help to process some donations and send letters out acknowledging and thanking all of those who are supporting our cause. I am so excited for the rest of this year and seeing how all of these projects continue to grow and develop!
